To kickoff recruitment for his Youth Council, Ambassador William E. Todd traveled to Kampong Cham on June 13 to meet 200 students at the American Corner located at University of Management and Economics.  The Ambassador’s Youth Council aims to directly engage Cambodian youth and the future leaders. During his visit, Ambassador Todd emphasized that given approximately 70% of the Cambodia population is 30 years of age and younger, it is important to engage youth on the topics of interest to them and receive input on U.S. Embassy programs and U.S. policies in Cambodia.

To welcome the Ambassador to Kampong Cham, five students of the American Corner’s English Club gave a presentation about Kampong Cham resident life, geography, and some of the local tourist attractions.  The students also guided Ambassador Todd on a tour of Kampong Cham’s biggest attraction, the pre-Angkorian Nokor Bachey Temple.
