The U.S. Embassy, MTV Europe, and the Royal Government of Cambodia's National Task Force on Human Trafficking have launched a series of concerts and events across the country to raise awareness about the issue of human trafficking. One of the concerts took place on November 29 at the football stadium in Kampong Cham province. Speaking to a huge crowd of close to 30,000, the U.S. Embassy's Deputy Chief of Mission Piper Campbell said "Human trafficking is a serious problem in Cambodia, but through education and awareness, we can work together to stop it. All of us, the Cambodian government, the United States, MTV and the NGO community need to work together to put a stop to trafficking both here and around the world."

She also warned the crowd that "if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is", and appealed to them to return home and talk about the issue with their neighbors and friends in order to avoid having more Cambodians fall into the trap of trafficking.
