Non-Immigrant Visas
General Information
All applicants in Cambodia who wish to apply for tourist, student, or other non-immigrant visas (NIV) to the United States must make an appointment for their interview online. The Consular Section will no longer accept non-immigrant visa appointment requests by telephone. All requests for non-immigrant visa appointments will be directed to this website. For detailed instructions on how to apply, please click here.
Note: K-1 and K-3 applicants should NOT use the online appointment system. K-1 and K3 applicants will be contacted and scheduled for an appointment by the consular section.
All non-immigrant visa applicants, including K-1 and K-3 applicants, must fill out their DS-156 application forms online using http://evisaforms.state.gov, print the application form on a laser-jet printer, and bring the three printed pages when they come for the interview. The DS-157 and DS-158, if required, may be downloaded here.
There is no cost to access the visa application form or make an appointment on the above website. Applicants need only pay the usual fee for internet usage and printing if using a private internet café.
Non-immigrant visa applicants should arrive for interview on the time and date specified for their scheduled appointment. They should submit their passport and application, and pay the non-refundable application fee of USD131, prior to their interview. Supporting documents should be brought to the interview by the applicant. Do not send supporting documents via mail, fax, or email.
On the day of the interview, we request that family members, friends, or other persons not accompany the visa applicant to the U.S. Embassy. Applicants are generally interviewed in the order that they arrive, but should plan to be at the Embassy for several hours.
Cambodian citizens do not need to pay any additional fees to the Embassy if a visa is issued. (Some third country nationals may be required to pay an additional fee if the visa is issued, based on bilateral reciprocity agreements between the U.S. government and their home country.)
Passports with issued visas are generally available for pickup at 4:00 P.M. on the following day that the Consular Unit is open to the public, Monday through Thursday. However, the Consular Unit encourages visa applicants not to purchase plane tickets until after they have received the visa back from the Embassy.
