The training program came to an end on December 19, 2008. This important training program is intended to build capacity within the Royal Government of Cambodia to better understand international petroleum exploration and production practices to manage Cambodia’s resources as well as to facilitate interaction with private sector partners that are planning to operate in Cambodia’s energy sector. The training addressed issues such as commercial contracts, delimitation and joint development case studies, project evaluation fundamentals, energy project economics, field reserve estimation and evaluation, petroleum marketing, international accounting practices, and corporate governance. Following the training, several senior government officials will participate in an orientation visit to enable the sector’s senior decision makers to travel to the United States to meet with U.S. public and private sector experts. The training program was delivered by U.S. firm Koeppen, Elliott & Associates.
