Closing of the Cultural Heritage Protection Training Program

On Friday July 24 at 16:00 Ambassador Carol Rodley and His Excellency General Neth Savoeun will preside over the closing of the Cultural Heritage Protection Training seminar at the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh.
The training course was organized by the FBI and the presenters included members of the National Parks Service and the Department of State. This course is the second of two such training seminars. The first was held in Siem Reap on Monday and Tuesday of this week and involved forty two participants. The same number of police professionals attended the training on Thursday and Friday in Phnom Penh. At the closing ceremony the Ambassador will also present General Savouen and the Heritage Protection Police of Cambodia with over $12,000 of computer and electronic equipment designed to assist in the force with the apprehension and prosecution of those involved with the theft of artifacts and relics.
