Battambong
August 08, 2008

The Bangkok-based State Department Regional Educational Advisor Mrs. Chalintorn Burin traveled to the Embassy’s American Corner located at the University of Management in Battambong on Friday the 8th of August.  She spoke to well over one hundred second and third year students about educational opportunities in the United States, scholarships, financial aid and about the application cycle that relates to universities and colleges.  Wearing her second hat as the East-West Center’s SE Asian representative she also spoke about funding that the Center provides in the region, and the numerous opportunities that exist for good students that have a solid command of English.  Mrs. Burin also highlighted the Embassy’s new “Opportunity Fund” which allows students to apply for grants to pay for expenses related to the application process such as GRE and TOEFL exams.
